What to Expect at ASC

• ASC offers individual or small-group consulting sessions to help you with coursework, study skills, writing, or exam prep.
• Each session pairs you with a trained student consultant who supports learning and understanding — not just doing the work for you.

Step	What Happens / What You Should Do
1 Greeting & Overview	The consultant welcomes you and asks what you want to work on (assignment, concept, exam prep, study plan, etc.)
2 Understanding & Discussion	You explain the problem or question — consultant helps you break it down, asks guiding questions, clarifies concepts.
3 Strategy & Work-through	Consultant guides you through problem solving, notes, brainstorming, writing structure or study strategies — you actively participate.
4 Wrap-up & Next Steps	Consultant summarizes what you’ve learned, gives recommendations or study plan, and you note what to do next.
5 Follow-Up / Homework	You take what you learned back to class/homework — consultants help teach, not do the final work for you.

• Bring your course materials, assignment instructions, exams, notes, or anything you need help with.
• Bring a notebook or laptop if you’ll take notes or work on assignments.
• Be ready to participate actively — sessions are about helping you learn, not doing your work.

• Review the notes and recommendations from the session.
• Work on the assignment / study plan on your own.
• Practice what you learned — that's how you get better.
• If needed, book another session (within your weekly limit) or ask a consultant for follow-up guidance.
